Super 44: Our Brand New Neighbourhood Margarita Bar is Open!
Super 44 has landed on Enmore Rd, Newtown!
Located a stone's throw from its sister venue Bar Planet, Super 44 continues our emphasis on fun: fresh, delicious margaritas, psychedelic drinks, and a menu centred on a variety of fruit-forward iterations of the classic cocktail.
We’re drawing on ideas, techniques and flavour combos from the last 15 years of MUCHO margarita bars, from one of the world’s best margaritas at Cantina OK!, cult-favourite spicy margaritas at Centro 86, and the iconic Tio’s margarita that’s kept Surry Hills satiated since 2012.
“Super 44 is centred around our favourite cocktail, the margarita - this time with a little extra MUCHO magic,” says Daisy Tulley, our Group CEO. “Our mission is to bring joy to the locals of Enmore Road, and our most delicious margarita to the Inner West. We’re excited to continue MUCHO's 15-year celebration of making delicious margaritas, hand-selecting tequilas, bagging up hot popcorn, and providing incredible service.”
The drinks revolve around four distinct styles — Classic, Spicy, Frozen and Sparkling — anchored by the attention to details that we love in our margaritas. Fresh lime juice, squeezed to order, has been a cornerstone of service since day one, while hand-shaved ice gives our margs their signature theatre, texture and character.
Inside, the space draws inspiration from traditional Mexican cantinas and European tabernas. Black-and-white tiled floors, dark timber, burgundy accents and hand-painted signwriting sit alongside framed artwork, vintage magazines and objects collected during MUCHO's annual trips to Mexico.
With a soundtrack inspired by shifting radio stations on a desert road trip, Super 44 is a neighbourhood bar that feels communal, familiar and alive. Super 44 will open Wednesday to Sunday, with a daily Happy Hour offering $13 Super margaritas and $7 Tecate lagers for the first hour of service.
