Mezcal May at Cantina OK!

Cantina OK! is inviting guests to build their own tasting flight this May with a trio of $10 pours available all month long.

From cliffside villages in Oaxaca to a Sydney laneway, Cantina OK! will give agave fans the chance to taste once-in-a-lifetime mezcal for less than the price of a schooner this May.

Home to the rarest agave spirits on Australian shores, Cantina OK! has imported small-batch agave spirits into Australia since their inaugural trip to Mexico in 2017, packing water bottles filled with mezcal, raicilla and tusca into their suitcases as liquid tokens of the people they met and the places they visited.

What started as a ritual among friends has evolved into one of the most distinctive spirits programs in the world, built on long-term partnerships and a deep enthusiasm for the people behind each bottle — and a bar that exists to share one-of-a-kind spirits you’re unlikely to taste again.

  • “Bondi Beach” — $28 → $10
    Made by Gilberto Aquino in San Luis Amatlán. Gilberto’s spirit is made from four agave varieties that are roasted, crushed, fermented and distilled together from start to finish.

  • “Antipasti” — $22 → $10
    Made by Paula Aquino in San Luis Amatlán. Paula is one of the few female master mezcaleras in the region and works with agave grown on her own land.

  • “Red Lipstick” — $22 → $10
    Made by Ageo and Felipe Cortes in Mengolí de Morelos. The Cortes family produce aromatic and interesting mezcals made from Karwinskii agave.
